How it works

One front door. An independent pro on your roof.

The on-site work is performed by an independent local chimney company, not by VIO CHIMNEY. That business sets its own price and schedule, provides any workmanship warranty, and collects payment directly from you.

We take requests nationwide and match them to a local pro in the area. Coverage depends on which independent companies serve your ZIP.

What happens after you send a request

  1. 01

You tell us what is happening

A service, or just the symptom: a stain on a ceiling, a smell in July, a fire that will not draw. Plus your ZIP code, because coverage is decided by which independent companies work there. It takes about two minutes.

  2. 02

We match your request to a local pro

We route it by your location, the type of work, and which company in the network has capacity. We pass on your request details so that business can call you. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what is shared.

  3. 03

    They quote, you decide

The company that arrives provides the estimate in writing before any work starts, sets its own price and schedule, does the job, and bills you directly. You are never obliged to accept it. Declining costs you nothing and does not affect using VIO again.

  4. 04

If it goes wrong, tell us

We document the complaint, take it up with the company, and a pattern of them ends a pro's place in the network. What we cannot do is adjudicate a workmanship dispute or compel a refund. Those remedies lie with the company, your state licensing board, or a court.

What we check before a company joins

  • Business identity and standing confirmed
  • Proof or attestation of any license or registration the work requires locally
  • Attestation of general liability insurance, with documentation where applicable
  • Reputation signals reviewed — customer reviews and complaint history
  • Complaints monitored on an ongoing basis; a pro that fails standards is removed

The limit, stated plainly. Screening is a point-in-time check and is not a guarantee of licensure, insurance, quality, or outcomes. Ask any company for its license number and a current certificate of insurance before work begins.

What VIO commits to

These describe how we run the network. They are undertakings about our own conduct, not a promise about any company's licensure, insurance, workmanship or outcomes, which are not ours to make.

  • We screen every pro in the network against the criteria above
  • We route your request to a pro serving your area
  • We require a written estimate before any work begins
  • We record complaints and act on them, up to removing a business
  • If a match falls through, we re-match your request on request

The questions worth asking us

Does VIO CHIMNEY do the chimney work itself?

No. VIO does not sweep, inspect, repair or install anything, and does not employ the technicians who visit your home. We operate the brand, the request flow and the network. The work is performed by an independent local chimney company, which sets its own price and schedule, provides any workmanship warranty, and collects payment directly from you.

Then why does the site read like one company?

Because one front door is genuinely more useful than fifty phone numbers, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. VIO CHIMNEY is a marketing identity: one name, one look, one place to start. The operative relationship is the one on this page and in our Lead & Referral Disclosure, which controls if any marketing copy anywhere on this site ever contradicts it.

What does 'screened' actually mean?

Before a company joins the network we confirm its business identity and standing, require proof or attestation of any license or registration its state or locality requires for the work, require attestation of general liability insurance with documentation where applicable, and review reputation signals including customer reviews and complaint history. We monitor complaints on an ongoing basis and may require updated documentation or remove a business. It is a point-in-time check of a business, not a guarantee about the individual who arrives.

How is VIO paid?

By the companies in the network, not by you. Depending on the market that may be a per-referral fee, a share of completed jobs originating from our referrals, a network participation fee, or a combination. It is never added to your estimate as a line item. Being candid about the consequence: that is a financial relationship, it influences which businesses take part, and we do not claim the company matched to you is the cheapest available. For significant work, get more than one estimate, including from companies outside our network.

Do you cover my area?

We take requests nationwide, and coverage in any given ZIP depends on which independent companies serve it. In Cleveland, Ohio and Nashville, Tennessee there is a named primary provider with ZIP coverage published down to the neighbourhood. Elsewhere we match against the network. If we cannot serve you, we say so rather than sitting on the request.

What should I ask whoever shows up?

Five questions, and a reputable company answers all five without hesitation. Are you licensed or registered for this work in my area, and what is the number? Can you show a current certificate of insurance? Will the estimate be in writing, and does it say what is and is not included? Who obtains any required permit? What warranty do you offer on workmanship, and is it in writing? Ask them of any chimney company, inside our network or outside it.

The full legal version is our Lead & Referral Disclosure. If anything in our marketing ever contradicts it, that document controls; it says so itself, and we would rather you knew that than found out.

Ready when you are.

Tell us your ZIP code and what is going on. A screened local pro takes it from there, with the price in writing before any work begins.
